New Shoes

Well, in my 10k run in Calgary it seems I discovered my left running shoe was disintegrating after only 150 miles. Although I can’t prove it, I suspect that it was not a co-incidence that my left knee started hurting like heck during the run, which I finished anyway. The outside seams on the inner left of the shoe by my arch and big toe started to come apart and it seemed like my whole foot wanted to slide out through the covering. The shoe seemed to make me suddenly over-pronate or something. After the race Karen Cooksley and Dawn suggested I take them back (I think). Anyway, I did just that and the manager at the Running Room helped me out after some hesitation about my shoes being older than 60 days. To keep a long story short, I just walked out of the Running Room with a brand new pair of Mizuno Waverider 9’s ! I only had to pay a small upgrade charge of $27.00. I was very happy with my initial fit and test of the shoe. I took the shoes outside for a brief jog down the sidewalk. Now I have to test them indoors on the mill at least once before taking them out. During the test at the store, they seemed so much better than my New Balance. So much so that I am having fantasies about running as fast as I am capable of, pain free! Can’t imagine that happening. I can’t wait to try them out! The Waverider 9 is so new it isn’t even listed on their web site.
