Late update…
I did 6.3 miles today and managed to arrive at Frostbite Falls, having done 60 miles so far this month. Unfortunately I think I spilled the screaming hot chili on the way but there should be enough for everybody anyway. I did not count my cross-training miles (elliptical and stationary bike). Now, after the party, on to the March 5th Hypothermic Half! I have not had much time or motivation to update this log lately. I will try to do better later…

Shaky Day…
I just heard about a 43 year old runner who died after crossing the finish line, but cause of death is not yet known. I quote from a post in my runner’s forum: “…A popular Arizona golf pro collapsed and died Saturday after completing the Walt Disney World Half-Marathon. Because of his age, an autopsy will be performed to determine why he died, said Cpl. Carlos Torres, an Orange County Sheriff’s Office spokesman…” The runner’s family is no doubt devastated. I have no details about this yet, but I do know this kind of tragedy … Continue reading

Ice Cleats Review
Short and Sweet: First run 2006. Distance 5 miles. Conditions black ice due to freezing rain the night before. Conclusion: Worth the price, will use again. I could not have walked, let alone run today without them. Remember, you can click on any picture to get a larger image, then hit the back button on your browser to return to this page. Details: They are made of rubber and are a stretch fit over your runners. They cost about $12.00 Canadian and were purchased at Lee Valley Tools. They are made by a Taiwanese company called TPR. No other info is available in the package. I stepped out my door and on the way down the wood deck steps I slipped and landed on my butt. Just a few bruises but not enough to keep me from my run. While I was down on my butt, nursing my bruises, I … Continue reading
