The platforms allow a bit of a rest but can’t hold more than two people. Above the falls there is a bridge across the Tsusiat and that is where I climbed under the bridge to get water from a tiny waterfall:
The trail is becoming so much easier. Here is the second and last Donkey Engine. It seems much smaller than the first one:
Crossing yet another bridge here is a shot of another creek canyon:
Here is Jutta and Marilyn crossing another bridge:
We are fast running out of bridges. Only 26 more bridges to go!
We do cross several Indian Reservations along the way and there are a couple of cabins strictly for the use of park wardens and of the Trail Guardians. Here we met a guardian on his way to a cabin we had just passed. He had come from Pachena Bay. Regrettably I did not get his name. He said his totems were the eagle and the bear. The staff he carries has eagle feathers on it. He was very friendly and pleasant. We chatted for a few moments, thanked him, and we went our separate ways.
We arrived at Michigan Creek in good time, made camp and I had to take this photo of a happy Marilyn who was clowning around with LongNameNoCanSay. LongNameNoCanSay is sort of our tiny leopard mascot and we try to take him everywhere just in case we start to get too serious about life. If we do, LongNameNoCanSay straightens us out.
Tomorrow is the final day, a 12 km hike out to the Pachena Trailhead!
