It was dark before the drillers finished, but their initial test indicates well over 100 gallons per minute. This is an incredible amount of water! We would have been happy with 2 or 3 gallons per minute.

Here is a photo of the screen about to be dropped into the hole. I used a flash since it was taken after dark and it was snowing, but warm:

The screen sits at 167 feet below ground, about 13 feet above the bedrock shale.

I am really glad I don’t have to pay for a dry hole.
