Starry starry night…

I ran all the way (6.5 km) with no walk break last Thursday morning. It felt really good. Last Sunday I really pushed it with my daughter Morgan and I was still a bit stressed from that. I think the problem is trying to find the right pace for both of us.

I headed out the door at 5:15 AM. The weather was -5 degrees C with absolutely no wind. The stars were out along with a quarter moon. I saw several meteors streak across the night sky, but none of them hit me. When I left, Orion’s belt was still low above the western horizon. I took it easy; the road was icy but not too bad. I did not wear ice grippers today, but I didn’t need them as I was not running fast.

The stars were murmuring to me all the way. The Big Dipper said “…should I give him a drink?” The Pleiades sisters giggled, and Cassiopeia’s Chair wondered if she should persuade me to sit a while. By the time I got back, Orion’s belt had dipped below the horizon. I thought to myself, “I’ll never catch him now!”

Yah, it was a good run, even thought I lost the race to Orion.
