Better late than never…

I’ve been too busy to update my blog for a while so here is a brief update. My training has me running up to 50 km in a week now, and my 19 week distance build-up plan will be over in the middle of April. I was delayed about 15 minutes during my 8.5 km run yesterday as I was running behind a moose. The moose stopped in the middle of the road to see just how much of a threat I was. It was a cool experience.

I have about 20 km on my bike trainer. I put on 5 km per workout on it. That doesn’t sound like much, but the training is much more intense than actually riding on the road. There is no standing up nor coasting. It is pedal all the way. I work up quite a sweat and my legs feel like rubber after. Last time I did the 5 km in 14 minutes. Also with the intensity of my running training, I run 3 days in a row a lot of times and I can only cross-train on my bike trainer on my rest days.

I will be posting my training schedule in excel format or something similar soon so you all can check it out. Since I am not doing a marathon this year, I will be doing just a maintenance schedule after the current training routine is over. I have not figured that out yet.
