Testing the injury with a 5 km walk today…

Today I walked 5 km then stretched out and did some upper body exercises as I do after every outing. I walked it in 57 minutes. I can’t begin to tell you how it tears my heart out not to run.
Believe me, I was chomping at the bit but I knew I could not risk running. So I did not, but it was hard. I knew if I did run, the injury would get worse in seconds, you can just feel stuff like that. So anyway, my calf was much better but still too sore to risk running.
I wore my new Mizuno Waveriders for the first time today. The Saucony shoes are past their prime and permanently retired now. They will still be useful for everyday walking around though, but never again will they run. Kind of like me one day I imagine.
