The last run of the year 2007…

This is my home. Today, I ran 11 km and it was exhausting work shuffling through all that snow. I’ll update this post a little later. I managed it in an hour and a half, which is 8 minutes slower than I like. So as you can see, this year I ran 1477 km. Knowing that this was the last run and that I was being bogged down by the snow, I thought I would take a few pictures with my cell phone. …a frozen alien landscape? …a frozen country road. …and my driveway, which is exactly 400 meters long.

Life on Mars? New Scientific Evidence.

Life on Mars? The above link will take you to a YouTube video typical of the so-called scientists and researchers such as Richard Hoagland and others who make money on the idea that there is a NASA/government conspiracy to hide the truth from us and that there is actual proof of artificial structures on Mars. Just look at the photos! Well, it may be true, but until we get some ground truth let us not jump to wild conclusions. The above video is from a presentation by Tom Van Flandern, Ph.D. The beginning of the video shows him as being associated with Meta Research, Washington, D.C. But in the video itself, he is presented as “a former chief astronomer, US Naval Observatory.” Apparently, the video editors did not think Tom (I shall call him Tom from now on) was good enough so they used the old “appeal to authority” trick … Continue reading

7 km lets you know you’ve worked…

I began my 7 km today feeling very very fat and unwell. The day was a mild -8 C with no wind. I missed my usual time checkpoint at 1 km but I suspected I was starting out too slow. At the 2 km checkpoint I was almost a minute too slow so yet again I played a catch-up game which is exactly the same thing as fartleks, really. Anyway I gained back a few seconds at each checkpoint so that I ended up with negative splits and a time of 52:11 for a 7:27 pace. I really like only running three times a week. I think it gives me more healing time which seems to allow me to perform better. I have only 18 more kilometers left in my scheduled running this year, and if I manage to run them I will be short of the 1000 mile mark … Continue reading

11 km closer to the end of this year…

I did the same loop as usual, but still had a really hard time with the trail portion. The snow is difficult to plow through even if it is just a few inches deep. I was slightly ahead of the game by the time I hit my first check point, but lost the time over the trail portion. Nevertheless I finished it in 1:24:20 which is a 7:40 pace compared to the 7:30 pace I am aiming for. I was considering maybe eliminating the trail portion (which is a 2.5 km long trail) for the winter but I reconsidered and now think the extra hard workout I am getting from it is probably a good thing. So I guess I will continue running that trail portion no matter what and if my time suffers because of it, so be it. Since it is much harder now to run than when … Continue reading

United Nations think we are morons!

Here is another article that really makes me mad: UN THINK WE ARE MORONS Here is a partial quote, demonstrating how the media treat us like empty-headed morons: Canadian science enthusiasts looking to get an early jump on next year’s holiday shopping might want to add something to their list: a telescope. The United Nations on Thursday named 2009 the International Year of Astronomy, to mark the 400th anniversary of Italian astronomer Galileo Galilei’s first observations using a telescope. The UN 62nd General Assembly made the proclamation Thursday morning in Paris, after the resolution was submitted by Italy, Galileo’s home country. The International Astronomical Union and UNESCO will jointly run the initiative with 99 nations, including Canada, participating. The United Nations seem to have absolutely no problem agreeing on things that are totally unimportant and insignificant. So they make up ridiculous public relations achievements that have absolutely no bearing on … Continue reading

Asteroid may hit Mars in January?

You can view the whole cbc.ca article here: MARS But I want to talk about something else in the article. I quote: NASA also announced on Friday its decision to delay until 2013 the launch of a half-billion-dollar Martian probe called Scout. The $475-million US Scout atmospheric probe was originally scheduled to launch from Earth in 2011. NASA chose to delay the launch over what it called a “serious” conflict of interest in one of the proposals submitted for the mission from one of two Colorado research institutions, but declined to elaborate. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think that since NASA is publicly funded, that they should allow public input. As it is they are keeping too many secrets. Or else they think that anyone not within NASA is too stupid to be allowed to have any input. Why can’t the general public have a say? Why keep … Continue reading

An appeal from Dr. Steven Greer…

Steven Greer has been threatened before by unknown organizations who have opposed his efforts to force the government to disclose the truth. One such occasion I quote from a transcript of the Coast to Coast radio show with Art Bell: AB: All right, well here was an attempt at intimidation. This phone call came in when, Doctor? SG: This came in about two or three weeks ago to the CSETI line outside D.C. AB: Here it is, Listen carefully: [Playing tape] Recording of voice mail for CSETI number 301-249-3915 recorded message dated July 19, 2004. The time is 12:35 A.M. “Stop prying into government matters or dire consequences will result” [Voice Mail time] July 19, 12:35 A.M. (recorded message was repeated a few times) The number on the Caller I.D. for this call was 649-486-3151 and, according to the Internet, a 649 number is in the Turks and Caicos Islands … Continue reading
