Karate 20

Last night we had our last lesson of the year. We break for the holiday season, and resume January 5 which is a Saturday. It was a small class. Chris, a brown belt led the warm-up. Kerri was the only Sensei for today. The first hour we did basic kumites. The second hour we practiced basics. During the break we had some fun with practicing our punches, kicks, and blocks on a beach ball. The school had left volleyball nets up and there were a lot of cheap plastic beach balls of varying sizes lying around (from some previous school function I would guess). Some of us divided into teams and played a free for all type of “volleyball” where we tried to use blocks, kicks, and punches in hitting the ball. We had a lot of fun. It was quite a workout and our focus and reflexes were tested to the limit.
