Run faster, keep warmer…

I ran 6.5 km today in 0:46:27 for a 7:09 pace. A lot faster than my 7:30 training goal. But it was -16 and I was cold so I ran faster to keep warmer. Actually, I find that unless I can maintain a 7:30 pace or faster right from the start, I have to work a lot harder to catch up. The last time I ran an over 8 minute pace was not only because of excess snow on the road, but because I did not make a 7:30 pace start.

Tomorrow we will see how I run the 11 km. I missed a day of running because I ran out of time this week, so I am looking at this as a rest week. Next week (starting tomorrow), I run one 11 km, and two 7 km.
