Karate 21

Finally, karate class is back after the holidays! I tried to take it easy today because at 5:15 I gave blood at the local “Canadian Blood Service”, which is the street name for those blood sucking vampires from hell. I’m kidding! They are not blood sucking vampires. On the other hand, I haven’t seen a vampire since I started appeasing them by giving blood regularly. There may be a lie of omission here. :)

Anyway, we did a lot of stretching which I am not good at. But it keeps me from getting worse at least. Then we went through kihon kumites and finally we did katas. We did Ko Tai Rin and Pinan Nidan. Not well, but we did it. It is so difficult to perform the simplest blocks perfectly. That is why we will practice them over and over again until we start foaming at the mouth and fall over backwards. The problem with karate is that once you start, there is no end to it. Kind of like breathing when you start life away from your mother’s womb. Most of us still do it.
