Karate 30
We had a very small class yesterday. For the first time I was the fourth highest rank there – that’s a laugh! Sensei Pat Buhrs and Sensei Kerri Trotman was there and also Chris, a brown belt. After our usual warm we again practiced kicks and kata. Our teachers emphasized proper form for the upcoming ranking. We were told that we had to know the kumite and katas appropriate for our upcoming ranking, which I do know. I was told that the judges would be looking for proper form so we have to make sure our stances are correct, that we punch to the middle, and that our shoulders are square and always over our hips. I should be able to rank as long as I get in a few more practice sessions outside of classes.
