Sensei Jordan was there, and only a few other colored belts so it was a small class. I felt pretty dizzy at times because I had just given blood but I learned a lot anyway.

I knew what a kata was, from my son’s lessons some years ago, but was unaware of the word bunkai, so I looked it up in Wikipedia. Thanks for this education you’re giving me in karate, John!
Oh, and thank you for giving blood!
You are welcome Karen. But I am definitely feeling my age. If you are ever interested in taking Karate, might I recommend the same style I chose? It is authentic Okinawan karate and has bout 70 kata as opposed to Goju Ryu, although authentic too, which has only about 10 or so. By all means, stay away from non-authentic styles like unrestricted martial arts or the karate mills that sell belts.
