Karate 37

Well, yesterday’s class was pretty routine. We practiced basics again and katas. I can feel that I am improving, but I’ve been so busy lately I have not had time to practice. I met a new student today, a friend of Chris who also is named Chris I think, and he has taken Tai Quan Do before. Tae Quan Do. Tae Kwon Do. There are so many ways to spell it. Which is right?

Other than that I don’t have a lot to say about yesterday’s class except that I always manage to learn something new and notice something old that needs tweaking.

Can I have new joints now? It’s pretty frustrating when your form looks really bad because you are avoiding pain so you step funny. It makes you look like you don’t care and are just going through the motions. Maybe I shouldn’t be taking karate AND training for a marathon at the same time? Or maybe I should just shut the hell up and quit whining. Ya, that’s it. Quit whining. It’ll heal soon enough.

We were told that Barrau Sensei would be away so we won’t be getting our belts any time soon. That’s OK. My Yellow belt still works just fine.
