Karate 40
I wimped out today and sat out the second hour of class. The first hour had Mike guiding us through katas for the benefit of the white belts who will be grading hopefully this Saturday. The second half was not as intense as they did basic kumites, but I sat it out and watched anyway. I’m not very happy with my footwork in the katas, and I am not comfortable looking toward my attacker when I have to turn 270 degrees. When I’m turning 180 degrees, I can look back in the same direction I am turning, but in the 270 degree turn, my attacker is coming at me from, say, my right and it is easy for me to look 90 degrees to my right to look at him but then I have to turn counterclockwise in the opposite direction.
