Had to adjust the seats, and I need to adjust the handlebars on MM’s bike. The brakes need to be adjusted a bit. It’s like going from driving an old clunker (our old bikes) to driving a luxury vehicle (our new bikes). What a difference. The brakes are going to take a bit of getting used to because they are so much more effective than our old ones. It’s really easy to flip the bike, and also really easy to pop a wheelie going up a steep short hill. I jave to get used to the bikes idiosyncrasies, all of which are good ones.
Later we will be buying racks and will be putting on fenders to keep as much gritty sand off the bike as possible. Our brakes and brake boots get covered in sand, as does our dérailleurs and other parts we don’t think should be getting sand-blasted. We’ll have to clean those off after every ride to avoid grinding away the metal.
Still more tweaking to come…
