Karate 50

We approached today’s class in Elmwood with a bit of hesitation because, well, you know, we’re just a bunch of old geezers who are still feeling sore from last Tuesday’s class in Devon. I did not want to try very hard today and I really hoped we would not have to do any kicks because my legs were still sore from yesterday’s 11 km speed run.
We did kicks. We did push-ups. We did stretching and crunches. We did Katas, we walked back and forth using cat, horse, and forward facing stances. Then we covered some sparring techniques after which we sparred with different partners. I was dropped to the floor quite a few times during practice. No weapons today.
Now I am even sorer and I have another 11 km to run tomorrow although slowly at an 8 minute pace. Then it’s rest until Sunday when I do my 32 km long run. Probably choose and mark out my route for that on Saturday using my bike. Should be fun.
