Karate 65

Tonight’s class was preparation for the katas in the upcoming tournament but no sparring. Marilyn crawled back from the dead and managed to stick it out in class after a nasty bout with the flu but she was still a snotty nosed little brat, ha ha! We’ll see if she reads my blog or not! Actually, once when I asked her, “Don’t you ever read my blog?” she replied, “I don’t have to read it, I live it!”

I don’t talk much, I guess. Anyway, Marilyn and I learned a new kata today thanks to Sensei Troy who showed us Pinan Sandan. We don’t need to know it for our next grading but it was still really nice to learn another kata, especially since it is short and introduces a few new techniques. I am also really happy that we have more students than before, even if some of them are just students who are returning after several years absence. People come and go to our dojo’s classes. Some of them travel a lot and can’t make it to every class.

So, I will be practicing as much as I can for the upcoming tournament and after the tournament on Nov. 8th, I will be focusing on the upcoming grading in December.
