Run 60, 2009 …I hate to eat and run, but…
Today’s run was bloody hot. I felt bloated by lunch. Bleh. I had little choice, as I got up earlier than usual to take care of a work emergency and didn’t have my usual breakfast. I had a late lunch just before the run (crappy fast food). So I had a little more to eat just before a run, meaning that I was still trying to digest lunch, while my body was trying to divert blood from the digestion process to the running process which basically means that not enough blood available for either process. Usually, I eat at least 2 or 3 hours before runs and only have easily metabolized liquid sugars during the run (gels, Powerade, etc.).
Still, I ran the 11 km at an average pace of 7:37 per km. But please, don’t make me eat and run again!
