Karate 132
A new training regime has recently been introduced by Sensei Juan Molina in which we warm up by running, and other aerobic exercises which I quite like. It involves a bit of running around the gym for a few laps then changing direction and going the other way. The routine has us slow down to a walk and we kick our outstretched hands while walking. Then we run again, then stop and face the middle and do crunches, pushups, basic blocks, punches, and kicks, then we run in the other direction and repeat the process. We move on to kata, and sparring. I like the new dynamic as it adds variety and makes you stay alert and think.

Run 80, 2009
After a long holiday of 16 days I am back running again. Today’s run was 11 km. My last run was the Thanksgiving day half marathon in Devon, where I not only got off track and ran an extra 1.5 km for a total of about 22.5 but I also had the disappointing return of the knee from hell and had to limp home from km 10 or so. Sucks to be me. Wallowing in self pity now. I did finish that race but everyone had gone home, so there was no timing mat to run across, but I did get my shiny thing anyway. Sometimes, ya just gotta hate what life throws at you.
