Christianity is a fear based religion, and here is why…
First of all, I used to be a Christian, even a born again one. I will not here tell the long sorry story of my journey through the religious labyrinth where I met the Minotaur and defeated him. Today am I a happy atheist? Well, I am certainly much happier, but I am not really sure about my atheism since I have not entirely rejected the idea of God. I just know that there is absolutely zero evidence for the existence of a God. And now that I am an enlightened being, I am not even sure what evidence I could accept. If some big powerful being were to appear and claim to be God, how would I know that he is not just some highly advanced life form with a big stick? I would not know. The English language is the stupidest language ever. Oh wait, I’m not qualified to say that since I only know one language well. Well, I know French and some Spanish but not enough to say they are stupid languages. Although I really like Spanish. I think I’ll say that French is a really stupid language too, and I feel sorry for anyone who has to speak it. French, and everything Quebec, sucks big time. Ha ha ha! This is the title of another article I feel I could comment on. The web site is: www.drdino.com/articles.php?spec=77/ and the author is Dr. Kent Hovind of the Creation Science Evangelism web site. I will be quoting from the article and trying my best to comment on it, but it will be hard for me because, as you all must know by now, I am a moron. A moron with an agenda. Bear Tossing For Dummies
We were sitting around talking about units of measurement and converting kilometres to miles and so on. Then the conversation somehow digressed to how they used to use the length of body parts (usually a king’s) as a standard of length. For example, an inch was the length of a thumb, and so on, which was not altogether very accurate since no one’s thumb was the same length, and the king complained bitterly that he was getting terribly tired going from village to village and market to market holding his thumb out for lowly and often smelly peasants to measure. I then recounted a story about the pioneers, frontiersman, and explorers who first ventured forth into the wild west and how they had no rulers or measuring tapes back then so they had to use innovative ways to create maps. War, war, and more war…and a rant about war…
I was just thinking about the latest news from Iraq and how a Shiite cleric is urging 1,000,000 Iraqis to rise up against American forces. Sigh. It’s not about religion or about ousting the “evil” American occupying forces. It’s the same all over the world, whether in Afghanistan or Somalia or Iraq or wherever. It’s about petty criminals who want to maintain or get power so they can enslave other people because they are egotistical fools who don’t give a damn about their own people except to somehow preserve a remnant to enslave, a remnant people who will be available to worship those in power. I was going to start a rumor about Steve Fossett…
I heard the other day that this man was finally declared legally dead and that inspired me to start a rumor about Steve Fossett, the rich adventurer who disappeared during a solo flight in Nevada. I was going to post this note and say that I would deliberately start a rumor that Steve did not crash but had deliberately flown over and landed or was shot down over the restricted Area 51 and was made to “disappear”. I wanted to prove that even though I would precede this rumor by declaring it was a total fabrication on my part and that I had absolutely zero evidence of any kind, the rumor would quickly spread through the internet and become either “fact” or urban legend. But the idea already is out there apparently.
