When is wind wynd and wynd wind?
The English language is the stupidest language ever. Oh wait, I’m not qualified to say that since I only know one language well. Well, I know French and some Spanish but not enough to say they are stupid languages. Although I really like Spanish. I think I’ll say that French is a really stupid language too, and I feel sorry for anyone who has to speak it. French, and everything Quebec, sucks big time. Ha ha ha! I can say that not only because I am a French Canadian by birth, but because it’s my blog and I’ll rant if I want to, rant if I want to, rant if I want to…you would rant too if it happened to you… So if you don’t recognize the song reference in that last sentence, you are way too young to be reading this blog, now piss off… So when is wind … Continue reading

Bear Tossing For Dummies
We were sitting around talking about units of measurement and converting kilometres to miles and so on. Then the conversation somehow digressed to how they used to use the length of body parts (usually a king’s) as a standard of length. For example, an inch was the length of a thumb, and so on, which was not altogether very accurate since no one’s thumb was the same length, and the king complained bitterly that he was getting terribly tired going from village to village and market to market holding his thumb out for lowly and often smelly peasants to measure. I then recounted a story about the pioneers, frontiersman, and explorers who first ventured forth into the wild west and how they had no rulers or measuring tapes back then so they had to use innovative ways to create maps. Since there were an awful lot of grizzly bears on … Continue reading

Quebec province is a totalitarian facist bastard state.
It is not the first and only example of Quebec’s ludicrous interference in human freedom of expression. This is from an article from the cbc.ca web site: Quebec language police nab Montreal bar for vintage posters An Irish pub in Montreal will fight an order from Quebec’s language watchdog to take down antique advertising posters from its walls. The Office de la langue francaise (OLF) issued the order to McKibbins Irish Pub on Feb. 6, informing the tavern it was violating Quebec’s language charter by displaying the imported vintage posters. The wall hangings include vintage advertisements for Guinness and St. James Gate Dublin, imported from Ireland. McKibbins owner Rick Fon told CBC News he will not take the posters down because they serve as decoration, not to advertise beer. The OLF said it received a complaint about the pub and sent an inspector to investigate the downtown watering hole. The … Continue reading

Why is it snowing so hard in the maritimes?
Here is a theory based entirely on electrical short circuits in my brain caused by cosmic rays tearing through it, leaving a trail of destroyed brain cells in their wake: Have you ever heard that if the arctic ice cap melts, it will cause Britain and Europe to freeze? If not, the first thing you have to know is that the Gulf Stream keeps Britain and Europe from freezing. This is because the warm surface waters that comprise the Gulf Stream flow from the Caribbean area to the North Atlantic Ocean where it swings around and crashes into Europe, keeping Europe warmer than it would otherwise be as dictated by Europe’s northerly latitudes. These warm waters flow along the surface because they are less dense (although much saltier) waters compared to the much colder, less saline waters that flow south from the arctic. Britain is subject to so much fog … Continue reading
