I was going to start a rumor about Steve Fossett…

I heard the other day that this man was finally declared legally dead and that inspired me to start a rumor about Steve Fossett, the rich adventurer who disappeared during a solo flight in Nevada. I was going to post this note and say that I would deliberately start a rumor that Steve did not crash but had deliberately flown over and landed or was shot down over the restricted Area 51 and was made to “disappear”. I wanted to prove that even though I would precede this rumor by declaring it was a total fabrication on my part and that I had absolutely zero evidence of any kind, the rumor would quickly spread through the internet and become either “fact” or urban legend. But the idea already is out there apparently.

Quebec province is a totalitarian facist bastard state.

It is not the first and only example of Quebec’s ludicrous interference in human freedom of expression. This is from an article from the cbc.ca web site: Quebec language police nab Montreal bar for vintage posters An Irish pub in Montreal will fight an order from Quebec’s language watchdog to take down antique advertising posters from its walls. The Office de la langue francaise (OLF) issued the order to McKibbins Irish Pub on Feb. 6, informing the tavern it was violating Quebec’s language charter by displaying the imported vintage posters. The wall hangings include vintage advertisements for Guinness and St. James Gate Dublin, imported from Ireland. McKibbins owner Rick Fon told CBC News he will not take the posters down because they serve as decoration, not to advertise beer. The OLF said it received a complaint about the pub and sent an inspector to investigate the downtown watering hole. The … Continue reading

I hope you appreciated your holidays.

Growing up, my own family was very dysfunctional so as a child, I evolved away from and rebelled against the social norm. Today birthdays and other holidays (yes, even Christmas), are something to be dreaded, not celebrated. So I can’t imagine anyone paying attention to such things. I want you all to realize that my perspective and attitude towards holidays, birthdays, and such, is twisted and warped. Or is it? But it is not my fault. It is the fault of my circumstances and the so-called “family life” that I grew up with. The good news is that I understand what it is all about, even though I am not emotionally attached in a normal way to the concept. The other good news is that when I wish someone a happy birthday, you can be sure it comes from the heart and is really genuine. What I don’t like about … Continue reading

Why is it snowing so hard in the maritimes?

Here is a theory based entirely on electrical short circuits in my brain caused by cosmic rays tearing through it, leaving a trail of destroyed brain cells in their wake: Have you ever heard that if the arctic ice cap melts, it will cause Britain and Europe to freeze? If not, the first thing you have to know is that the Gulf Stream keeps Britain and Europe from freezing. This is because the warm surface waters that comprise the Gulf Stream flow from the Caribbean area to the North Atlantic Ocean where it swings around and crashes into Europe, keeping Europe warmer than it would otherwise be as dictated by Europe’s northerly latitudes. These warm waters flow along the surface because they are less dense (although much saltier) waters compared to the much colder, less saline waters that flow south from the arctic. Britain is subject to so much fog … Continue reading

United Nations think we are morons!

Here is another article that really makes me mad: UN THINK WE ARE MORONS Here is a partial quote, demonstrating how the media treat us like empty-headed morons: Canadian science enthusiasts looking to get an early jump on next year’s holiday shopping might want to add something to their list: a telescope. The United Nations on Thursday named 2009 the International Year of Astronomy, to mark the 400th anniversary of Italian astronomer Galileo Galilei’s first observations using a telescope. The UN 62nd General Assembly made the proclamation Thursday morning in Paris, after the resolution was submitted by Italy, Galileo’s home country. The International Astronomical Union and UNESCO will jointly run the initiative with 99 nations, including Canada, participating. The United Nations seem to have absolutely no problem agreeing on things that are totally unimportant and insignificant. So they make up ridiculous public relations achievements that have absolutely no bearing on … Continue reading

Asteroid may hit Mars in January?

You can view the whole cbc.ca article here: MARS But I want to talk about something else in the article. I quote: NASA also announced on Friday its decision to delay until 2013 the launch of a half-billion-dollar Martian probe called Scout. The $475-million US Scout atmospheric probe was originally scheduled to launch from Earth in 2011. NASA chose to delay the launch over what it called a “serious” conflict of interest in one of the proposals submitted for the mission from one of two Colorado research institutions, but declined to elaborate. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think that since NASA is publicly funded, that they should allow public input. As it is they are keeping too many secrets. Or else they think that anyone not within NASA is too stupid to be allowed to have any input. Why can’t the general public have a say? Why keep … Continue reading

U.S. Congress approves fuel efficiency energy bill…

This is gong to be a rant. I need to blow off some steam so here goes… Quote from a news article from cbc.ca: “Democrats said when the fleet of gas-saving vehicles are eventually widely on the road, the fuel economy requirements will save motorists $700 US to $1,000 US a year in fuel costs.” This relates to the new energy bill where higher fuel efficiency standards come into effect. It would “…will boost mileage by 40 per cent from 25 miles per gallon to an average of 35 miles per gallon — around 6.7 litres per 100 kilometres.” What do I think? I approve of any efficiency increase and of course any environmental benefits to come from that, but I really hate when these politicians bullshit us by telling us it will save us money. It won’t save us money at all. First of all, they will simply charge … Continue reading
